Getaway Elite “Win Free Domestic Flights for Two” Competition – Terms and
Conditions.
1. Introduction
This promotional competition (“the Competition”) is organised by Getaway Elite (“the Promoter”). By entering the Competition, all participants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2. Competition Period
The Competition will commence on 19 May 2025 and will close at 11:59 PM on 9
June 2025. No entries will be accepted after the closing date.
3. Eligibility
• The Competition is open to all natural persons who are legal residents of South
Africa and 18 years or older at the time of entry.
• A valid South African ID or passport will be required to claim the prize.
• Employees, directors, contractors, agents, and consultants of Getaway Elite,
and their immediate family members, are excluded from participation.
• Entrants must have a valid and active personal social media account
(Instagram or Facebook).
4. How to Enter
To enter the Competition, participants must:
• Like the official Competition post on Getaway Elite’s Instagram or Facebook
page;
• Comment on the post by tagging at least one (1) person. Each comment
containing at least one tag counts as one valid entry;
• Share the Competition post to their own story or timeline.
There is no limit to the number of entries per person, provided each comment includes
at least one unique tag and follows the above steps. Incomplete entries or those that
do not meet the requirements will be disqualified.
5. Prize Description
• One (1) winner will receive return domestic economy class flight tickets for
two (2) people.
• Travel must be between two of the following South African airports:
o O.R. Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg)
o Cape Town International Airport
o King Shaka International Airport (Durban)
o Lanseria International Airport (Johannesburg)
• The flights will be booked by Getaway Elite with a local airline of its choice,
subject to availability.
• Flights must depart and return between Monday and Thursday only
(midweek travel).
• The winner must choose a travel date at least 14 days in advance to allow
time for booking.
• Flights must be redeemed within 6 months of the winner being announced.
• The prize includes flights only. All other costs (e.g., accommodation, transport
to/from the airport, food, travel insurance, and incidentals) are excluded and
are the winner’s responsibility.
• The prize is not transferable, not refundable, and not exchangeable for cash or
other services.
6. Winner Selection and Notification
• One winner will be randomly selected from all valid entries after the closing
date.
• The winner will be contacted via direct message on the platform used to enter.
If the winner does not respond within 72 hours, they will forfeit the prize, and a
new winner may be selected.
• The Promoter reserves the right to verify the identity of the winner before
awarding the prize.
• The winner’s name and/or social media handle may be published on Getaway
Elite’s social media platforms and website for promotional purposes.
7. Disqualification and Misconduct•
• The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any participant suspected of fraud,
manipulation, or breach of these Terms and Conditions.
• Automated entries, bulk entries, or use of fake accounts are strictly prohibited.
• Any attempt to interfere with the entry process or manipulate the outcome will
result in disqualification and possible legal action.
8. Limitation of Liability
• The Promoter will not be liable for:
o Any technical errors or interruptions in the competition platform (e.g.,
Instagram or Facebook outages);
o Flight delays, cancellations, or rescheduling by the airline;
o Any loss, injury, death, or damage arising from participation in the
Competition or use of the prize.
• Entrants and winners enter and accept the prize at their own risk. The Promoter
makes no warranties regarding the suitability, quality, or availability of the airline
services provided.
9. Indemnity
By entering the Competition, participants agree to indemnify, defend, and hold
harmless Getaway Elite and its employees, affiliates, and partners from any and all
claims, damages, expenses, or liabilities resulting from their participation in the
Competition or acceptance of any prize.
10. Privacy and Data Protection
• Personal data collected from participants will be used solely for administering
the Competition and promotional communication by Getaway Elite.
• All data will be handled in accordance with the Protection of Personal
Information Act (POPIA).
• By entering the Competition, participants consent to the Promoter collecting,
storing, and using their personal information for the purposes of the Competition
and marketing related to Getaway Elite.
11. Force Majeure.
If the Competition is delayed or disrupted due to causes beyond the control of the
Promoter (including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemic restrictions, civil
unrest, or airline strikes), Getaway Elite reserves the right to suspend, postpone, or
cancel the Competition without liability.
12. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Any disputes arising from or related to the Competition will be resolved by the courts
of South Africa.
